SLP clinician transfer: Case notes sheet

It's spring which means I am knee deep in Kindergarten transition evaluations. When I am passing the folders to different SLPs for Kindergarten I often want to write other notes that aren't in the file anywhere. I whipped up this sheet to include in their file with the most recent information the new SLP will need.

Just click the "download preview" button on my TPT page.  Head on over to my blog to check it out!

Spring Step-Sequencing Pencils!

I saw these cute spring colored pencils from Creative Clips clip art and immediately thought of a sequencing activity I could make for my kiddos.  Many of my young language delayed children struggle with retelling stories so I begin by teaching them ways to "sequence" everyday activities into 3 steps (modeling a beginning, middle and end of a story).  I made this activity in the same manner.

Check out this FREEBIE and all the ways you use it here!

Under the Umbrella!

In case you missed it, there was a big blog hop last week with 17 awesome freebies from awesome SLP bloggers!  Since we want to make sure you guys see all great materials, I am sharing my freebie once more...
I chose to target comparing and contrasting, which is a goal many of my students are working on.  I included pictures on this one, as well as a Venn Diagram :)

You can find it over it in my TPT Store!  I hope you like it!

Rainy Day Articulation

We've all heard the saying, "April showers bring May flowers!"  To celebrate the month of April, I've created a Rainy Day /r/ Articulation Pack:

It includes nine /r/ initial, nine /r/ medial, and nine /r/ final word cards.  Each word is placed on a raindrop.  Here's what they look like:

You also get a page of blank raindrop cards if you wish to add your own words.  I have used these to work on /r/ in carrier phrases.  Lay some articulation cards on the floor.  Have students stand over them and drop the rain cards.  They can say "It's raining on the___" or "It rained on the ___."

You can grab this freebie on my blog page!

Earth Day Freebie

Get your Earth Day Social Problem Solving Freebie by checking out my blog post here!

Dinner Conversation Prompts

The dinner table can be an ideal place to address carry-over goals.  The child gains the spotlight (fun and motivating!), the parents or older siblings can model and/or reinforce good productions and homework doesn't add to the parents’ workload (so it gets done!).  I've started sending home “conversation starters” with some of my artic kids, but it would also be great for higher level language or fluency students.  The language environment is relatively controlled because it’s shaped by the topic and, because it’s “homework,” the child has that little reminder to focus on their current sound target.  You can pick up twenty conversation starters here.

And they’re so entertaining, you might use them in your own home!

Tops & Bottoms {emotions worksheets}

Hey Speechie Freebie Friends! Happy Monday to ya! I spent last week doing a gardening theme with a book that was new to me, Tops & Bottoms, by Janet Stevens. This is a great book for your elementary aged students.

In the book, Bear and Hare go through a range of emotions, so part of my new book companion is a set of emotion worksheets. Students can identify 3 different parts of the story and the emotions that situation caused.

Celebrate Earth Day!!

I'm baaaack!! It has been a while and I apologize. The good news is that I got a brand new computer and am ready to go with a ton of new materials! So without any further delay.... here is my newest freebie.

In honor of Earth Day (April 22) I created this open ended reinforcement game for you to use with your students. There are probably 400 different ways this can be used, but here is how I use this game....
Print, cut, and laminate as many copies as needed. Have students take turns choosing a card after they practice their target speech sound/word/sentence. Students get to keep track of their points (way to throw in math!)

Below are some samples, but this is a 5 page document.

You can download this activity here! Enjoy and Happy Earth Day!!

Super Point Sheet!

I know it's a dilemma for many SLPs.... managing behaviors for kids that have a Communication Disorder eligibility.

In our school we use "check and connect" to help encourage positive behaviors during the school day and increase parent-school communication.

I created a generic Super Point Sheet for your students! Click here to see how you can get yours!
