Christmas Carol Scramble!

I wanted to make a fun holiday activity for my clients who are readers.  So I made this Christmas Carol Scramble sheet so we can have a bit of fun while working on our speech and language goals.
A few ways to use this sheet:
1.  Individually students can attempt to complete this sheet and see who guesses the most correctly.
2.  Using groups, you can have students take turns reading each scrambled carol and others guessing.
3.  Using groups or “buddies”, have students pair up or divide into groups to complete this sheet, whichever group guessing the most correctly wins.
4.  Used as a “push-in” classroom activity (individually) or pair students in the manner described above.
5.  Used as a social skills activity, pairing up students with deficits in this area with good peer models to learning to guess, negotiate and compromise.

Unwrap the Gifts!

Who doesn't love opening presents?!  This worksheet takes just a moment to set up and can be used for articulation, language or fluency therapy.  Simply print out the two sheets (included) and provide either a catalog or 1.5" x 1.5" target cards.

Once you've used in therapy, it can be shared at home for additional practice.  Caregivers can be given three clues to help them guess what's inside the package.

And please don't forget to vote for Speechie Freebies in the EduBlog Awards, group blog category.  Voting ends tonight (12/18/13 at 11:59 EST).  We'd love your support!

What Does The Fox Say? Prepositional Phrases Game FREEBIE!

Has this song been stuck in your head for weeks?  It has been replaying over and over in my brain this past month that it inspired my new series of holiday activities!
This freebie game is a mix between that silly fox song and the book The Gingerbread Man.  Students get a fox mat and if they pick up a card that has a fox, they get to sing "yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum." and put a token on a fox.  Whoever gets all their foxes covered up wins!

It is a fun extension activity to play after reading The Gingerbread Man and students work on making more complex sentences.  I have found so many cute activities on TPT, that I have been doing a gingerbread man theme for 2 weeks!

Check out the rest of this post over on my blog to snag my foxy freebie!

Hope you have a great holiday break filled with love and relaxation!!

Christmas Tree Decorating: Articulation Worsheets

Today's FREEBIE Friday is a fun simple packet of articulation worksheets you can use for some quick articulation therapy.  As the weeks and days get closer to Christmas break, I know how excitable AND distracted our students can be.  This is a simple fun way to "decorate" to enjoy the Christmas fun while targeting articulation goals.  This packet contains 20 pages of articulation fun! One page designated for initial and final word positions for /B, P, T, D, K, G, F, V, S, Z/.  Working on any of these sounds?  Then download this FREEBIE today!!!
Here are some ideas on how to use this packet.  After your student correctly produces the target word in whatever complexity level you are targeting (word, phrase, sentences, etc.) your students can do one of the following:
  1. color the Christmas ball with crayons or markers
  2. paste a pompom on the Christmas ball
  3. decorate the Christmas ball with glitter or glitter pens
  4. decorate the Christmas ball with puffy paint pens
  5. use dot markers to color each Christmas ball
  6. Place Christmas stickers over each Christmas ballSlide3
  7. Roll a dice to determine the number of times to say the word or the number of target words to practice in one sentence
  8. Send home worksheets for homework practice
These are just a few ideas of how to use this simple activity. I'm sure you can come up with many more creative ways to modify this activity to motivate your students.
I hope you enjoy this freebie!
Merry Christmas and happy Talking!
