Do you have any little speechies that get frustrated easily or need to have "cool down" breaks when things don't go their way? I find that my students on the autism spectrum and/or students with emotional regulation difficulties respond really well to visual posters when needing to "chill out".
I made these behavior management visuals that you can print out on cardstock and laminate for durability. Find a place in your therapy room or classroom that can be the "chill out" spot. I put a bean bag chair in a corner of my room with a visual poster with "calm down", so the student knows the designated area. The student can either bring you the "chill out" card or you can give it to the student if they cannot regulate their emotions independently. I included a black and white version too!
