Kicking off summer with some fun freebies!

I am sooooooo ready for summer, but I still have till June 12th before I officially go on my summer break!  Pretty jealous of any SLP's that are already finished.  I thought I would share a round up of fun summer freebies that I have in case you want to use them with your kiddos for those last weeks in therapy or if you are doing extended school year.
Scoop Up A Delicious Story FREEBIE

I also made a fun camping freebie to work on pronouns and simple noun-verb agreement.  It is a great activity for your little ones that are working on those simple grammar structures.

"Me" vs. "I" Pronoun Puddle Jump Grammar Activity

Hello!  This is Manda & Shanda from Twin Sisters Speech & Language Therapy LLC.  We are super happy to post over at Speechie Freebies again today!!

We have a fun activity for you to use during this rainy time of spring!

Just tape the two puddles included in the packet on the floor and ask your students to jump to the correct answers to finish the sentences.

The questions ask for your students to choose the "I" or the "ME" pronouns to finish a sentence.

An "I" and "Me" pronoun teaching page, colorful puddles and teaching cards, and also color ink- saving black and white cards and puddles are included in the download.

Kids love to jump into puddles! In fact, this fun activity was inspired by Manda's own son who we saw laughing and jumping from puddle to puddle last springtime after it had rained outside! :)

Give your students this fun opportunity to learn about when and how to use their pronouns while they move in a fun way too!

Head over to our blog today to obtain the link to this fun new freebie! While you are there, please also become an email subscriber to receive all of our speech and language related posts.  It would be great to have you!

Have a happy day!!

Top 40 Music:: Guess Who

photo 3-001I've been struggling to find things to finish out the school year in Middle School. My middle schoolers are all severely delayed. Most are reading at mid-elementary school level and they can't keep up with my junior high level materials. It's been hard to find things that will work for them because they are super aware when something looks 'babyish.'  We've used my YouTube companion packet and Shannon's Music Themed Companion Worksheets. Those were great but we're a little worn out from those.

  photo 4

My middle schoolers really work hard for a chance to play a game at the end of a session, but they can't keep up with the middle school level language games in my stash.   This week I took a childhood fav and gave it a middle school makeover. Guess Who meets Jay-Z. It's a game they are actually able to play and since I added pictures of Drake... it's not 'too' babyish.

Articulation Scale

My district is using a Marzano based evaluation system, which means two things:  Scales & rubrics, people.  I created this one for all of my kids working on articulation, just as a general scale.  It is good for me to see where they think they are and good for them to take some ownership of how their speech is progressing.
This is 4 point scale (what I am required to use) and students can rate themselves independently.  It has led to some good conversations in my speech room, so I hope it does in yours too!

Monsters: A Quick Synonym & Antonym Review

Hey everyone, it's Miss Thrifty SLP! I know that monster stuff is generally more appropriate during Halloween, but I have a few students that want monsters all the time. I decided to give them an extra treat at the end of the year by using a monster theme to review their goals. There's nothing wrong with a little additional motivation after all.

The premise behind Monster Synonym and Antonym Review is simple. The student will pull a card out from the pile and provide either a synonym or an antonym. You can also use these cards to practice some vocabulary words if needed. There's even a handy answer sheet for recording purposes in case you need to want to use it as an informal measure of their progress next year.

To grab a copy of the file, just head on over to my blog by clicking the button below.

Construction Zone Craziness

Slide1

I'm always trying to find fun ways to keep my male clients entertained, attentive and motivated so I made this simple card game based on construction vehicles.  We all know how much boys LOVE construction trucks!!  The best part is this game can be used for any speech and language goals, can be played by individuals or as teams and you can print out as many copies of these cards as you so choose.

The count down is on to the last few weeks in school and that means summer is almost here!

If you are looking for a summer themed activity for teaching verbs in SVO sentences (can also be used as a barrier game for following directions), then today's freebie is perfect for you.

If you are planning summer homework programs then this is a must as the parent instruction sheets are pre-written for you to just print and go!

I hope there is some summer weather on the way wherever you are. I'm ready for some sunshine!

You can download your copy in my TPT store by clicking here.

Superhero Speech Diplomas

I'm moving into the final few weeks of school and looking to discharge a number of students.  Hooray!  For them, I have Superhero Speech Diplomas!

But then I got to thinking about those kiddos that aren't being discharged, in fact are unlikely to ever be discharged.  Don't they need some kind of certificate for work well done?  Another set of Superhero Speech Diplomas to the rescue!

This free pack contains thirteen diplomas.  There are specific ones for:  K, G, F, V, L, TH, R, S, and Z.  Plus, there are three open ended ones (ex. "I'm a speech superhero!" and "I'm attacking my speech goals!") with space to write in the recognized achievement.  And there's a completely blank one for those of you who want to get creative.

You can pick up the FREE pack of diplomas here. Please leave feedback!  I'd love to hear which ones you're planning to use!  ***TpT had technical issues on the site yesterday and has decided to extended the sale another day.  Code:  TPTXO gets you 28% off my store today!***

Build-a-Burger Categories

Summer time makes me think of  relaxing, vacations, and BBQs :)  So, I thought I would create a freebie to help get your students in the summer time spirit ( especially if you live where I live and its still cold ).

There are 4 burger mats and 16 topping categories.  The student who collects to most toppings or creates the wackiest burger wins!

Stop by my blog to see the full post and more pics.  You can download this freebie HERE! Enjoy.

BHSM Month Puzzle

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month! All month, you'll see SLPs doing wonderful things to raise awareness of what we do. Some days can be trying, but overall I think we have one of the most rewarding professions out there.

I decided to create a freebie that can help you share with parents and colleagues what it IS we do. It is a puzzle, so you can have some fun by cutting it up and putting it back together!

Head over to my blog to grab your copy and "piece" together all the things SLPs can do!

End of the Year Student Folder Information Sheet Freebie!

I always like to have a quick snapshot view of a student at the beginning of each school year. I made a student info sheet to place in the students working file at the end of the year. This will allow any therapist to pick the folder up next school year and not have to do a bunch of research about the student regarding dates and goals/current accuracies.

Head on over to my blog to pick up the freebie!
