Parent Handout on the Importance of Reading Aloud

I was one of those kids with their nose constantly in a book (my husband would say nothing's changed).  I can never wait for summer.  Not so much to lay in the sun (I burn) or swim (water has to be really warm--usually takes until July), but to sit in a shaded chair and catch up on the books I had to set aside during the busy school year.

When I first meet with parents, I often recommend establishing a reading routine with their little one--no matter how young or old.  It's truly one of the greatest gifts you can give your child.  To make sure they "heard" what I said, as well as some specific suggestions for our language impaired little ones, I've put together a handout to provide as well.

You can pick up your copy here.
