What does the fox say? Preposition game

What Does The Fox Say-Prepositions Freebie

During the month of December, I usually whip out all my Gingerbread themed books and materials for therapy.  It's a great theme because it doesn't highlight a specific holiday/religion, but is still festive and fun!

I made this game where you try to collect the most gingerbread cookies.  If you pick up a fox, you lose a gingerbread card because he just ate your cookie!

This game can also be played in honor of the famous song "What Does The Fox Say?"
Anytime a student picks up a card that has a fox, they can sing "yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum" to the tune of that song because the fox just ate a gingerbread cookie.

This game works on building prepositional phrases in sentences, so it is a fun way to work on building utterances!

Hi Peeps!

I have several students working on prepositions, so a few years back I made these Turkey preposition cards, and the students have really enjoyed them!

You can download them by visiting my blog HERE.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm so thankful for all of you!

Rock, Paper, Scissor for S Blends

I recently did a huge revamp of my Rock, Paper, Scissor products which makes them easier to read and sort.  AND, by popular request, I added decks with picture prompts too!  If you own any of these, including bundles for R or S that include my Rock, Paper, Scissor games, please redownload.  You'll be so happy you did.

If you have a little one struggling with /s/ blends, download my latest freebie to try it out.  Click here.

Just like the traditional schoolyard game, rock beats scissor, paper beats rock and scissor beats paper (trust me, the kids know!).  Now we're simply slipping in a little articulation practice too!

Thankful for pronouns

November always seems to rush by in a blur of IEP meetings, regular staff meetings, special activities, and holiday gathering. It is no small wonder why I have been looking for a few quick activities to pair with fall themed books for my language groups. This activity was actually inspired my old pronoun book creation. I pulled it out a few weeks ago and decided that we still needed more structured practice. So here is a Thanksgiving creation from my speech room to yours....Hope you enjoy!

Included in this activity are four sheets for structured pronoun practice. Students have to label the person using either he or she and then decide which item that person might be thankful for during the fall. Most of the pictures are related to fall and can be used to target fall vocabulary.

Articulation Production Tracker

Many say 100 productions is the ‘golden number’ for articulation drills.  Counting tallies can be tedious and sometimes using clickers or counters can get distracting.  You can use these articulation production tracker sheets to easily and quickly track up to 100 productions!

You can learn more about this freebie and grab a download at my blog :)

Functional Vocabulary Cards Sample

Hi, friends! November is upon us and that means being thankful for what we have. I'm SO thankful for this blog and the connections it has allowed me to make. It's a creative outlet and I have learned so much in the past three years. I'm coming up on my 3rd blogiversary (stay tuned for the fun involved with that).

This month, I decided not to bring you a seasonal activity. Rather, this is one you can use year round. I have some friends working on functional vocabulary and I wanted a systematic way to teach the words, so I created a larger packet. This is a sample that can work just fine on it's own.

I'm providing you with four rooms in a house: bedroom, kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Each theme has 10 cards. You can use the cards for matching (print 2 copies) or leave the cards as a mat. It's up to you.

Here's what the cards look like:

There is also a receptive language checklist for each set of cards that you can use to introduce the words:

Happy (early) Thanksgiving from me to you!

V-B Minimal Pair Words

We have all heard that kiddo who says "best" for "vest" or "bacuum" for "vacuum." Some kids have a difficult time producing the /v/ sound and often substitute this sound with the /b/ sound because /b/ is just so much easier to pronounce! We made a small packet with V-B minimal pair words to bring attention to the /v/ sound. Click HERE to download the packet!
